I would say this solar oven is good. I do like the hybrid feature because our sun is not reliable in the South Mid West area. Several times I have started something and the electricity had kicked in to finish it when the sun went under a cloud. So I would buy this again.

I have had a solar oven for years, but this cooker is different. I like the ease of opening the door upwards. Also the oven box is square and larger. The only drawback is its not too deep, which limits taller pots. Overall I am well pleased!

When we have good sunshine it does a really good job, with minimal electricity for baked goods such as cookies & bars. You have to be careful in hazy conditions not to burn things by leaving the electricity on too long.

Because of time issues I've only used it once. However, I must concur with past reviewers that the fasteners on the sides are flimsy and should be upgraded to better quality. The reviews I looked at before purchasing it warned me to be careful, so I knew about this ahead of time. Otherwise, it's fine - easy to store, carry, and set up. The instructions and recipes on the CD that comes with it need to be consolidated or re-written.

I would have rated it a 5 star purchase, but a few of the hinges are less than sturdy (they are functional, but not what I would call sturdy). The item itself is wonderful, and the customer service we received was well above 5 star.

The oven is very user friendly. It's great to be able to use solar or solar and electricity or just electricity. Very versatile! The only drawback is that the cooking pot lids are hard to take off after cooking the food (they seem to get stuck down by a vacuum effect).
